Hi there, I am Jess Henderson.
I have been a professional photographer for 11+ years now. I am 37 years old, I’ve been married to my man for almost 16 years and we have three beautiful girls (9, 6 and 9 months).
I actually started out as a Primary School Teacher and have always been keen on photography. I started 'Miracle of Birth Photography' in March 2013 by shooting my first pregnancy and birth. It was an incredible honour to witness the absolute strength of a woman bringing her baby into the world and I knew from that moment that I wanted to be around birth as much as I can in my lifetime. I completely love what I do and it has allowed me to express myself creatively and freely. But more importantly, it has allowed me to connect with people in their most significant life moments. I just love chatting with new parents about the birth and all things babies.
As a photographer I am always learning, studying light and new tricks of the trade, developing who I am as a documenter but mostly I am so glad to have learnt what I truly value in a photograph. I think becoming a Mum helped with this. I want a photograph of my baby to capture a moment in time that I will never get back, my perfect little baby in all of their tiny-wrinkled-flaky skin-GLORY. I don’t need my baby inside a prop or posed uncomfortably, I just want to remember them as they are and that’s why my newborn work has taken on a more natural and earthy vibe. I love for your baby to look cosy, comfy and loved in their photographs. When capturing birth or family moments I love to focus on authentic moments that show love and connections. You will rarely hear me ask you to look at the camera.
I really hope I can help YOU by capturing truly special and REAL moments that you want to display on your walls. Don’t undervalue the importance of displaying photos of your children in your family home, every time they walk past that photo it tells them they are loved and gives them a sense of belonging.
There really is no object more precious in life than photographs. It's what we have to carry us through, to bring back those fleeting moments and to pass on to our family what was important to us.

Testimonials
“She is amazing at what she does and has a welcoming and friendly personality. From the moment I met Jess I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to take photos of me or my new baby. We connected straight away, it was like catching up with an old friend!! During the newborn shoot my bub was a little unsettled and Jess worked her magic soothing and calming her throughout the session. I’m in awe of her work, she is just purely amazing and fantastic at what she does!”

“Jess’ adoring personality transpires into her work & comforts everyone in the room to create those magical moments treasured for a lifetime. Working against the sterile hospital equipment and the challenging lighting Jess was able to bring warmth & emotion, utilising tasteful angles, composition & image sequencing. These are not repeatable moments, so you need to be confident & trust your photographer. We are both pleased and honoured to endorse Jess, whom we have now adopted as our family photographer.”

“Jess is amazing!! Hiring her to do our birth photos was the best decision we made, the passion she has for her work shines through in every image and she was such an important part of my pregnancy and birth.
I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful person to share our special moment with.”
